Why We Prioritize People Over Profits at The Fresh Perspective Group
        4:08

At The Fresh Perspective Group (TFPG), we believe that when our people thrive, our business thrives. Our people-first philosophy isn’t a buzzword—it’s the heartbeat of every decision we make. We exist to make the work and the workplace better for everyone—our clients, our employees, and our partners— because we know that caring for our people drives better outcomes for everyone.

At TFPG, culture means more than capital. Our people aren’t overhead costs to manage but value deliverers who deserve care, recognition, and support. This belief shapes everything we do.

So how do we center people in our work? We’re reimagining two essential journeys—our Client Journey and our Employee Journey. By weaving people-centric decisions and practices into these interconnected paths, we’re laying the foundation for a workplace where people, not profits, take priority. We’re learning, iterating, and evolving, but here’s how we’re bringing this vision to life throughout our Employee Journey:

        Attraction and Recruitment

        • We believe recruitment is about connection, not transaction. That’s why our process is simple, equitable, inclusive, and aligned with our values.
        • We share openly— posting our salaries, our hiring steps, and a clear picture of what success looks like in every role.
        • Our goal? Finding not just the right skills, but the right people—those who align with our values, strengthen our culture, and bring diverse perspectives that make our team and our work stronger.

        Onboarding

        • Our goal is to measure success by how quickly new hires find purpose, not how fast they generate revenue.
        • New employees are supported with mentors, rituals of belonging like virtual meet n’ greets, and structured feedback loops like surveys and formal check-ins.
        • Whenever possible, we aim to hire and onboard in cohorts, fostering a sense of community and shared learning from day one.

        Development and Retention

        • At TFPG, well-being is at the core of how we work. From a 4-day workweek to competitive pay and benefits to access to a Staff Counselor, we invest in our people’s personal and professional lives.
        • Opportunities for growth abound— We believe in creating opportunities for all employees to grow. Peer programming, mentorship, and cross-functional initiatives not only deepen skills but ensure a workplace where every voice is valued, and every employee has a path to success.
        • We strive to listen deeply through engagement surveys and regular check-ins to ensure we’re meeting the needs of our team. Equity isn’t a box to check; it’s a commitment we uphold in every decision, from career growth opportunities to leadership development.

        Transition and Advocacy

        • Our goal is to celebrate employees when they move on to new opportunities, honoring their contributions not condemning their choices.
        • We aim to build an alumni network that keeps former team members connected as brand ambassadors, potential collaborators, or even future rehires.
        • Honest feedback matters—exit surveys will help us continuously refine our people practices creating an even better workplace.

Too many workforce systems are designed to maximize profit, minimize risk, or flaunt innovation—often at the expense of morale, inclusion and equity. At TFPG, we reject the "business as usual" mentality. We’re committed to building a culture where everyone—regardless of background, race, gender, age, religion, identity, or lived experience—has a seat at the table. We don’t pretend we’re a family, but we know that business is personal.

In a world shaped by environmental crises, global pandemics, and social unrest, the pace of change demands a different approach. The line between personal life and work is blurring and fading, and organizations that embrace people-centered practices will emerge stronger, more sustainable, and yes, more profitable than those clinging to outdated profit-first models.

What about you? How does your organization prioritize people? Let’s exchange ideas, share stories, and keep the conversation alive—because when we lift each other up, everyone wins.
