How We Value People

This blog post is our opportunity to introduce you to someone very special here at TFPG. Mandy is in the role of VP, People here at The Fresh Perspective Group. Before we dive deeply into Mandy’s entire life story (jokes!), it’s important to highlight the importance of people to us here at The Fresh Perspective Group. Our founding team came together with the goal of building a company with strong people-first values. With that as a collective priority, it was immediately evident that we needed an innovative, talented, and highly experienced people leader leading the charge and helping keep us true to our values. Enter Mandy, stage right! (That’s an intentional theatre reference. You’ll see!) Mandy’s role is a crucial aspect of our commitment to being a people-first organization. Read on to learn more about Mandy and the many reasons we’re thrilled she’s part of the team!

Nonprofit Roots and Wide Sector Exposure

Mandy started her career in the nonprofit sector, working at Stages Theatre Company in her hometown of Minneapolis, Minnesota, for several years. Over the last 15 years, Mandy has excelled in a number of different and progressively more senior roles in for-profit, nonprofit and higher education organizations. Having had exposure to different organizational structures and industry sectors, Mandy has been able to gain important people-focused skills such as talent acquisition, strategic planning, employee engagement, performance management, and fostering diversity. She has shown her commitment to her professional development by successfully achieving SHRM-SCP certification. (What’s that, you might ask? It’s a Senior Certified Professional designation from the Society for Human Resource Management. It’s kind of a big deal!) When she was approached with the opportunity to join The Fresh Perspective Group to be the on-staff human resources leader, she was happy to say yes. “I’m excited to create something new with people who care deeply”, Mandy shared.

More Than Meets the Eye

Mandy has a life that’s rich with meaning and purpose, which is one of the reasons why she’s such an inspiring leader for our team. When she’s not leading people-centric initiatives at The Fresh Perspective Group, her favorite thing is to spend time with her husband and kiddos in their home community of Asheville, North Carolina. Mandy is a highly creative individual with experience as an actor, director, writer and more. She studied theatre in college and has performed in countless productions over the years. She has even written a couple of original plays - one original work was a collection of farcical and funny letters to Santa performed as a holiday fundraiser, and one original work was a play inspired by Carl Sagan and the Voyager Golden Record work he did. Mandy is interested in exploring new cultures and cuisines and, how convenient, she actually married a vegan chef! Mandy’s husband operates a food truck in Asheville that’s adorably called Mean Mandy’s. Asheville was seriously impacted by Hurricane Helene in September of 2024 and Mandy wrote about her family’s experience in this LinkedIn post. Now that recovery in Asheville is under way, you should definitely check out Mean Mandy’s if you’re ever in the area!

Next up for Mandy

Mandy is committed to cultivating an amazing culture within The Fresh Perspective Group. Her role as VP of People allows her to combine her passion for solving problems, helping individuals find their perfect roles, and fostering a thriving workplace environment. We are thrilled to have Mandy as part of the team. If you’re interested in learning more about our values and how we live them every day, check out our Mission & Values page.
